Cleveland Browns quarterback Derek Anderson returned to practice on Tuesday. Anderson, who had been out since he left a game against the New York Giants on August 18 with a concussion, made a brief appearance on the field. "It was good for him to be back. But he was out there only a short time, so I doubt I can play him in the game," said Browns head coach Romeo Crennel.

Michael Strahan won't return to Giants

Everybody in the Giants organization wanted Michael Strahan back. Everybody, including the guy he would have helped replace. "It would have been cool to see him play, (but) I guess he couldn't do it without me," a laughing Osi Umenyiora told The Star-Ledger by phone yesterday, minutes after he learned Strahan had told the Giants he will remain retired.

Trent Edwards: Close to being 100 percent
8/26/2008 6:04:32 PM PST
It took a little while to get it warm, but once Trent Edwards got his injured thigh moving he was able to roll out on his right leg and drive off of it when throwing as he practiced with his teammates for the first time in a week.
“It feels good,” said Edwards after practice. “Once it starts getting warmed up and the blood gets flowing through there I feel back to close to being 100 percent, which is obviously what I want to get to, and the sooner I can get there the better.”
