Peyton Manning undergoes neck surgery

Peyton Manning on Tuesday underwent a procedure to relieve pain in his neck caused by a pinched nerve the Indianapolis Colts announced on Wednesday. The condition "has existed intermittently for the past four years, but at no time did it interfere with his training, practice or playing regimen," the team said in a statement." The procedure, performed by Dr. Richard Fessler in Chicago, isn’t expected to keep Manning from participating in the team’s offseason program.  Source: indystar.com

Peyton Manning's four touchdown passes pushed him two past Hall of Famer John Elway's 300 for fourth in NFL history. His early exit prevented him from moving up the completion list. At 3,404, he's six completions shy of passing Hall of Famer Joe Montana for eighth on the career list. The Colts' win nudged Manning past Warren Moon into eighth all-time as a starter with 103.
