Ricky Williams back in the spotlight 11/17/2009 6:17:00 PM
Williams will return to his past life as a featured back in Thursday night's game against Carolina because his backfield partner, Ronnie Brown, will not play against the Panthers.
Brown's right foot injury is worse than initially diagnosed, and he was sent to see a specialist. That means Williams, who is averaging 5.3 yards a carry at the ripe age of 32, will likely get more than 20 carries against the Panthers.

This time last year, Williams stood out every day. This past weekend, Williams mostly was invisible. Williams, 32, should come to life with pads on, but looks to have assumed the role as a complement to Brown.

Ricky Williams scheduled to start tonight 11/26/2007 9:23:00 AM
Two days ago I reported exclusively that Ricky would not only play, but might very well start against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Well, he is scheduled to start Monday night. Williams is starting because Jesse Chatman's injured right ankle is, well, still injured. All the wishing and rehabilitation in the world wasn't going to overcome that noticeable limp Chatman maintained throughout the past week.
