Wes Welker will play in tonight's game with the Atlanta Falcons, seven and a half months after tearing the ACL and MCL in his left knee, and six and a half months after undergoing surgery to repair the damage. He also underwent surgery for a torn rotator cuff during the offseason.

Welker's (knee) status for Thursday's game has yet to be determined, the Boston Globe reports. "We'll see how it goes...and make a decision on that. I don't know," coach Bill Belichick said Wednesday. "I'm not saying he will. I'm not saying he won't. We'll evaluate it and see."

Wes Welker is showing confidence in his ability as he participated in the morning session against the Saints.
Welker has been participating in drills with the Patriots, but to take hits against an opponent at this point in the season had to be a positive sign for the receiver, who had knee surgery in the offseason.

The wait is over. Wes Welker is off of the physically unable to perform list and practicing this morning.
Nick Caserio, the Patriots director of player personnel, said Welker passed his physical and will participate in the morning session today.

Recovering wide receiver Wes Welker was placed on the active/physically unable to perform list by the Patriots on Wednesday.
Welker, whose recovery from February surgery to repair a torn left ACL has been on schedule, can come off the list at any time. but if he starts season there, he'll miss at least the first 6 games.

After major offseason knee surgery, Wes Welker may be a full participant at Patriots training camp next week. A source close to the situation wasn’t as definitive with Welker’s status, telling the Herald it was more likely the wide receiver would start camp on the Active PUP list as a precaution.

Wes Welker is uniform and on the field during the Patriots' organized team activities this morning in Foxborough.
Welker, who suffered a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee during the regular season finale at Houston January 3, was seen on the field, chatting with coach Bill Belichick and stretching with teammates. Welker did not participate in full practice. Went thru bag drills and ran routes at three-quarters speed.

Moss should see more attention after last weeks outburst and Welker should see more action.
