Week #6 Cardinals @ Seahawks 4:15 p.m. EST
10/13/2009 9:07:00 PM

Matt Hasselbeck, who threw four TD’s and completed 18 of 30 for 241 yards last week vs. the Jag's 30th-ranked pass defense looks to keep the momentum rolling this week as they face the Cards @ home. The Cards look likely to oblige as they currently rank dead last defending the Pass (32nd overall) and are on average giving up 303.9 passing yards per game. They have surrendered 9 passing TD’s (5 games) and they’re also giving up the 4th most fantasy points to opposing QB's.

How about that? Hasselbeck leads the NFL in touchdown percentage of attempts that are touchdowns. It's a small sample size with only 84 attempts. Receivers Nate Burleson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh are second and seventh in the NFL in targets, respectively.

Seahawks QB Hasselbeck appears healthy again
4/20/2009 9:01:00 AM

Are you looking for some reassurance that Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck's back is feeling better these days after it forced him to miss a career-high nine games last season? "He wasn't constantly stretching and working it (the back) out like he was last year between plays," one observer of the team's first minicamp under Jim Mora told PFW. "He said the trunk of his body is much better aligned after all the conditioning he's had."  Source: "profootballweekly.com"

Seahawks saying Hasselbeck's still their man
4/18/2009 12:52:00 PM

Seahawks president and general manager Tim Ruskell said Friday he thinks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is as good as ever. That sounds like the owners of the fourth overall selection in next week's draft are sticking by their three-time Pro Bowl passer, despite Hasselbeck being 33 years old and coming off a back injury that caused him to miss nine games last season. "I still think he's in his prime," Ruskell said.  Source: "jacksonville.com"

Hasselbeck listed as probable with bruised thigh
1/11/2008 3:22:00 PM

Hasselbeck is pretty banged up; he has also been hampered with a wrist injury and hes still dealing with sore ribs. But that shouldnt affect his performance too much vs. the Packers. However, the Packers havent exactly been fantasy friendly to opposing QB's ranking as the 9th stingiest in allowing fantasy points to QBs. Green Bay finished the regular season ranked 12th overall vs. the pass, allowing an average of only 210.4 passing yards per game and surrendered 23 passing TDs. Hasselbeck still ranks in the top 5 this week and with the expected return of Branch and the Packers ailing secondary (CBs Will Blackmon and Charles Woodson are shaky with injuries); the Hawks could use more four receiver sets and turn this one into a shoot out.

Hasselbeck dealing with sore thigh
1/8/2008 12:07:00 PM

The crushing hit to his thigh that Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck shook off Saturday could be a problem this week. Holmgren downplayed the severity of the injury and said he expected Hasselbeck to be fine for the divisional playoff game Saturday against the Green Bay Packers. But he admitted that Hasselbeck reported back to the Seahawks facility with a charley horse and was receiving treatment on the players' day off.  Source: jsonline.com

Hawks QB Matt Hasselbeck practices
1/1/2008 4:51:00 PM

Matt Hasselbeck went through the entire Tuesday practice with his teammates, throwing passes all over the field. I wouldn't say he is 100 percent, but he will play against Washington on Saturday. Offensive tackle Walter Jones also practiced. I asked Jim Zorn how much concern there was over Matt's wrist, and he said that Matt is concerned when he has a hangnail. But once he was able to go out on the field and realize that he could throw effectively, any concern evaporated.  Source: thenewstribune.com

Mike Holmgren said in his day-after press conference that QB Matt Hasselbeck is pretty banged up with sore ribs and that he is not likely to get much practice time this week. He is expected to play, but they are going to rest him up as the Seahawks prepare for the Rams this Sunday.  Source: thenewstribune.com
