Titans, Chris Johnson work out a new deal

Mike Florio of Profootballtalk.com reports that according to a league source, the Tennessee Titans and running back Chris Johnson have agreed on a contract which will pay Johnson more money this season without adding additional years to the deal. Johnson's current contract is through the 2012 season.   Source: Profootballtalk.com

Who Knew? In 2009 Chris Johnson became the first player in NFL history to record TDs of 50+, 60+, and 90+ in the same game (vs. Texans who finished 09 11th overall vs. the run).

Titans' Chris Johnson may avoid holdout

The Titans and the agent for running back Chris Johnson are discussing a compromise that could get the All-Pro in training camp sooner than most expect. Johnson, unhappy with his current contract, didn't take part in the offseason program and missed all 14 days of organized workouts.  Source: tennessean.com

Titans’ Chris Johnson: ‘I can’t play for $550,000’

Chris Johnson wants a new contract. The Titans have no plans to give him one, at least not now. The reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year says he’s not sure how it will all end, but he knows this much — he’s not showing up to play at his current salary. “I can’t play for $550,000,” Johnson said.   Source: tennessean.com

#24 Titans draft East Carolina RB Johnson

The Titans selected East Carolina running back Chris Johnson with the 24th overall pick of the NFL Draft today. Johnson is a speedster who led the NCAA with 227.7 all-purpose yards last season. Hes also a dangerous kick returner. Johnson could be used as the third-down back.  Source: tennessean.com
