Rice has looked great this offseason 6/24/2009 1:46:00 PM
McGahee said he doesn't mind being the backup, because that what he is. Not only is he recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery, but his agent Drew Rosenhaus’ Twitter feed mentioned that McGahee actually had knee & ankle injuries that both required surgery this off-season. So that’s great that Willis is trying to embody the whole teammate thing, but the reality of it is that he may have to get good and comfortable in that backup roll or deal with a two back system. Word out of camp so far is that McGahee’s a little thick and has been rusty so far. Sure it’s early, but worth noting.
Rice, of the other hand is entering year two with a solid 08 yard total of 727. He’s also current running with the first team and even if McGahee’s able to reclaim the top spot, Ray Rice becomes a nice RB#3 sleeper to keep an eye on and a good handcuff for McGahee owners.
