Miles Austin has signed his tender offer worth $3.168 million Friday, setting the stage for him and the Cowboys to reach a deal on a long-term contract. If Austin did not sign the tender by Tuesday, the Cowboys could have reduced it to $1.65 million or 10 percent over his 2009 salary.

Austin's 250 yards earns more work, not 'starter'

Cowboys receiver Miles Austin has earned more work following his club-record 250-yard performance against Kansas City.
However, coach Wade Phillips stopped short of saying Austin is a starter.
Austin got his first career start Sunday and responded with 10 catches, including a tackle-shaking 60-yarder in overtime that gave Dallas a 26-20 victory.
